| The Bride, A Captivating Beauty? |
When she was a child, her mom told her that she is daddy’s girl and her dad will do anything for her; if she wanted the moon and the stars, her dad will get it for her. Well, not literally, she only found out what her mom actually meant when she became a young woman; that is, he wants her to be happy and will support her in the decisions she makes. Joanne wasn’t the popular girl in school; she is a shy and quiet girl in nature (until she has warmed up to you and found a common topic of interest, she can talk non-stop). She don’t consider herself to have many friends as she believes, quality is better than quantity with this, apart from her family, she keeps close to her a small group of girlfriends whom she knows she can turn to if she needs a shoulder to cry on. She grew up in a town called Klang in West Malaysia; attends Holy Redeemer Church, a church close to her home. She was baptized when she was a baby, received her first Holy Communion and Confirmation there. She is happy that she will be married in her home church. Like any other girls, Joanne has a “set” of requirements she would like to have in the man whom she will spend the rest of her life with. One of the main requirements is the man HAS to be a dog lover – Vincent is not a dog lover nor has a pet in his life before; he however loves God and this is definitely a far better requirement to have as oppose to a dog lover not believing in God. So there, the Lord wants her to know that He is in control of everything. He wants to teach her that she may have it all planned out and “think” that what she wants is the best for herself but at the end of it all, He has the last say and that His choice is the Best. For it is written As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:9 Joanne is grateful to her Heavenly Father for blessing her with a loving and caring family, coupled with good friends who shares life’s journey with her. The Bride has a message for her family: Mom and Dad, Though I may not show or say it often, I love you. Thank you for all that you have done for me. Through both of you, I know that God loves me; that is the best gift any girl can ask for. Although I am to be married, I confess I will still need your guidance and support through life’s journey. I learned a lot from both of you and hope that you are proud of me as I am proud of having both of you as my parents. Andrew and Ben, I am blessed to have both of you as my Kor Kor. You are always on the look out for me, watching from the sideline prying on those who hurt me (hahaha…..kidding). Anyways, thank you for looking out for me all these years. Even though Vince is taking over the responsibility of taking care of me, I will always be your little sister. Vivian, God did not give me a biological elder sister but He gave me you, an elder sister in the form of a cousin. You have the best interest in mind for me. Thank you for having me in mind, I could not have asked for a more thoughtful sister.
