Wall-E, Movie By Disney & Pixar

Wall.E - Disney, Pixar

If I were in US, I would have watched this movie by Disney and Pixar last month.  Unfortunately I am in this part of the world where the movie will only be released on 7 August.  Fuyoh!  Even though it is 2 days before my wedding I told Vince I want to be one of the 1st to watch the movie.

As per my previous post, we went around looking for Wall-E’s mock up so I could take a shot with him and I found him and not only him but Eve, his girlfriend as well.  They were at Sunway Pyramid!

Wall-E teaches us a thing or two about love……

He even carved on the bench we were sitting on this inscription……

Getting More And More Exciting

posted by Joanne

We are planning for a simple wedding……As it turns out……No matter how simple a wedding is going to be, there are still a lot of things to look into.

Today was a tiring but an exciting day for us.

We went to Hot Screen’s office in Kelana Jaya, they are the producers of “Realiti Pengantin” a reality show on RTM 1.  We have the privilege to be featured in the program through my cousin Alan who is a wedding planner.  It is a 30 minutes program which shows how the couple make preparation for their wedding to the wedding day itself.  They showed us a sample of how it will be so that we have an idea of what they are looking for.

And so we went to collect my wedding gown today, I had a fitting on Sunday and Erin (owner of Neoromantic Bridal - where I bought my gown) wanted to alter it smaller coz she said I am too slim and if I didn’t alter it, cannot really see the design of the gown.  She provided us with very good service and I am very happy with the quality of the gown.

We then went to the TOM Bridal Studio to confirm the design for our album.  We are satisfied with the outcome of our photos and design they have done for us.

How it works is that, their cameraman will follow us around when we are doing our preparation so it is unfortunate that all their cameras have been booked and so they were unable to follow us, however, we did our own footage with Vince’s camera.  They will look through it and if it is not up to their standard, we will have to re-act it out again.

Actually I hope it will be good enough so we can do our own recording because I think it feels awkward to have a camera following us around, if we do our own then I think will be more natural.  Anywho, we have to see what they say about our recording.

We will update you guys soon on how and what we are up to.

UnVeilinGlory Seminar - Cat & Dog Theology

Cat & Dog Theology

UnveilinGLORY Seminar which is based on Cat & Dog Theology, a book by Bob Sjogren was presented by Rev George Ong from Singapore.  The seminar was hosted by Canaan Church in Sri Hartamas on 5 & 6 July.

The seminar is based on a simple joke about the difference between a cat and a dog which helps you see the differences between “us living for God (Theology)” versus “God living for us (Meology)”.  It helps Christians to see that majority of what we’ve learn is not incorrect, but it is incomplete!

The speaker, Rev George Ong is a certified trainer of UnveilinGLORY Seminar.  To date, he has written 12 humour books (see below) which have been very well received by both the young and old.

Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 1 and 2.Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 3 and 4.Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 5 and 6.Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 7 and 8.Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 9 and 10.Humour Books by Rev. George Ong, Vol 11 and 12.

He sells these books to support his own ministry so if you are insterested to purchase them, you can write to him at

My personal view

It was very interesting to know how a cat and a dog think of its owner and it illustrates clearly how we ourselves position God in our lives.  All of us are usually a mix of a cat and a dog, at different times.  The question is at most of the time, are we more cat or dog?  If we are cats, we treat God as the Almighty who are here to serve us and answer all our prayers; if we are dogs, our ultimate aim is to glorify God in all that we do and because of His blessings for us, we go out to be life-giving and bless other people.

Even though the seminar was conducted in the afternoon which is the most sleepy time of the day, Rev George was so funny it was nearly impossible to fall asleep.  We had fun listening to him as he will just slot in jokes and he does it so smoothly, it hits you without you realizing it.

We almost missed it, we picked up the flyer at Salvation 2 days before.  We are glad that the Lord called us to attend the seminar.  He will be back in Malaysia sometime next month so if you are interested to attend his seminar, drop him a mail at

Pastor George is a funny man.

Vince & I with Rev George Ong - Even when we asked him if we can take a picture with him he said “Are you sure your camera can fit me?”  He said it with a straight face which makes it even funnier.

Lord, help us to practice “Theology” and not “Meology”.  Send your spirit upon us to keep us in check so that whatever we do, we will glorify you and not for our own glory.  Also help us recognise opportunities that come our way where we can glorify Your Holy Name, help us to be a blessing to others with the blessings you have given us.  Thank you Lord for this opportunity to learn more about your purpose for our lives.  May our lives reflect your glory.  Amen.

Johor MIRC Roadshow

posted by Joanne

Vince and I are in Johor for MIRC Roadshow representing XTrain to promote and educate the people in Johor about Internet Marketing.  We arrived yesterday and will be heading back to KL tonight.

We sat at the 2nd last seat from the back and as we were getting down from the bus when we arrived in JB, Vince spotted a note on one of the seat.  Vince said while pointing ”Jo, got money on the seat. Pick it up”.  At first I couldn’t see the note as the seat was blue in color, I was just expecting a mere RM1 or RM10 but God suprised and blessed us with a RM50 note (now you know why I couldn’t spot it at first glance).  We used the money almost immediately to buy our return ticket back to KL (God answered Vince’s prayer to provide for my travelling expenses as he can claim his expenses from XTrain).

After checking in to the hotel (we stayed in Mutiara Johor Bahru), we went out for dinner looking for the “Lok Lok” van, unfortunately he didn’t show up.  We hope to be able to locate him the next time round and perhaps go for stemboat porridge too.  While loafing around Pelangi area, we came across a uniquely decorated  ”mini minor”.  Vince took some pictures with his PDA phone.  This is how the car looks like, would be so cute if we use this as our wedding car, hehehe.

Doggy Mini Minor.

Doggy Mini Minor side view.

So, it is only less than 2 hours till our bus ride, going to zzzzz in the bus and back to the hustle and bustle of KL.  Some things are cheap here in JB, we bought some DVDs at RM5/DVD with buy 5 free 1 bundle and manage to find a shop that sells Wii games at RM5/game, how cool is that.

I hope that on our next trip to JB, we get to drop by Singapore even if just to set foot there and back so I can get my newly renewed passport stamped so not to renew my passport JUST for show.  Hope to make use of my new passport more than my previous which I only used ONCE in that 5 years of owning it (kinda sad, means I hardly travel).  Though am looking forward to trips overseas in the future with Vince.

Invitation Cards Printed

posted by Joanne

Our cards have been printed!  I collected it last Friday and the printers asked me for permission to display our cards at their shop as part of their work sample, I said “SURE! Go ahead” it is an honor.  Because we designed the cards ourselves; it not only is unique, it also represents us.

This is how our cards look like

Our wedding invitation ceremony card. Our wedding banquet invitation card

The details of our cards are on display at our website for our guest viewing only.  So to our relatives and friends, in the weeks to come, we may either meet up with you to pass you our cards OR look out for the postman to receive our cards.

Please Mr. Postman

Oh yes, wait a minute Mister Postman
Wait Mister Postman

Please Mister Postman, look and see
(Oh yeah)
If there’s a card in your bag for me
(Please, Please Mister Postman)
Why’s it takin’ such a long time
(Oh yeah)
For me to hear from that friend of mine

There must be some word today
From my friend who’s getting hitched
Please Mister Postman, look and see
If there’s a card, a card for me……

I suggested to Vince that we set up a wedding wesite early this year but he wasn’t interested to invest the time to develop it.  2 months before the wedding; one evening he said “Jo, let’s develop a website for our wedding”.  Talk about doing things last minute, now not only we have to plan for the wedding; we have to find time to develop the website which could have been completed months before.

Neverthless, as of today, 24 June; our website is 80% completed and we are looking to launch the website officially on 1 July when we start distributing our invitation cards.  Most of the content is already in place; our profile, event information incorporated with Google maps, blog, contact us, guestbook and login for our guest so they can do an online RSVP.  What is lacking is the photo gallery which will then complete the website.

It is something to develop it all on your own in oppose to engaging a web designer to do it for you.  Though it may be more work when you DIY, the plus side is you are in control of how you want your website to look like not needing to just be contented with what the designers have done for you.  We can change the look and feel of our website anytime we want, we can add or remove any pages and decide where to put which menu all within our fingertips.  Of course I have the advantage of having technical support, being engaged to an IT Expert; if it is not for him, I would have what I have now in terms of knowledge and ownership of websites.  Thanks Vince, can’t do it without you *muaks* (Jo pecks Vince on his cheeks).

It is exciting to see the development progress of our website and we will be updating it even after our wedding so do drop by often and check us out.

Invitation Cards In Printing

posted by Joanne

We have finally went to the printers to print our cards on Friday.  The printers were accommodating and were willing to help us modify the measurement of the card to fit it to an A4 paper (3 cards to 1 A4 - save paper, save trees, save mother nature - unfortunately the cost is still the same).  They also did a test print for us to confirm the colors and give us an idea of how the card will look like after it has been printed (not many printers do this).

Although the restaurant is providing us with free invitation cards, we have decided to design our own as we didn’t fancy their red and gold themed cards. Our design is based on our website and dinner theme which is brown (the restaurant only had 3 choices of colors; pink, red (too common and simple - very ah lian) or brown (the best of 3).

The envelopes were bought from a wedding card stationery shop in Jalan Pudu and it cost us half the price comparered to if we were to buy it from the printers (save a little here and there adds up to a lot).  We will also print stickers of our website url which we will use to seal the envelopes (this is what we call branding *wink*).

It will take about a week for our cards to be printed and I am looking forward to seeing how it looks like. So exciting.

In case you want to know where we print our cards, below are their details.

The Time Has Come

posted by Joanne

It is only less than 2 months to our wedding and we have just started putting our plan into action.  I wanted to start the planning much much earlier but Vince said it wasn’t time yet, he promised we would start in June.  I just had to wait PATIENTLY……and now we have to cram the organizing of our BIG day into our busy schedule.

Having to find time to work, play and plan for the wedding is not easy.  If only he had listened to me about setting up the website beginning of the year, we would have completed it months before leaving us more time to focus on other things.  I hope we will not over look anything thing especially those tiny details which we are not aware of.

As of now, the only important stuff we have yet to do is to get our invitation cards printed (yes, it is so last minute though we can still meet our deadline as we found out it takes less than a week to print it).  We have booked the church, the lunch reception and dinner banquet.  Initially, we wanted a simple wedding and though it is STILL going to be simple, as a bride, there sure is a longing for the wedding to be special and I KNOW it is going to be because God has planned it for us such.

God’s timing is PERFECT.  Some of you might know that the wedding WAS supposed to be held last year and we postponed it due to circumstances knowing (my faith was tested and I learned to trust in God) it was not the RIGHT time for it to happen.  God has a different plan and it was for it to take place this year.  Because of that, I know it will be an event that I will NOT forget.  The Lord is unfolding and fulfilling our desires for that SPECIAL day which will mark a NEW BEGINNING of His master plan for our lives.

I am looking forward to the little suprises that He has in store for us as we put our trust in Him.
